THE MANORIAL HARVEST FESTIVAL 23rd of August 2020

The Lublin Open Air Village Museum will hold the manorial harvest festival on Sunday, 23rd of August 2020. The event will start at 2 p.m. with a Holy Mass in the historical church from Matczyn. Traditionally, the collator lodge in the church will be reserved for the family of the heir and the nave will be reserved for harvesters with harvest wreaths. After the Holy Mass, a colourful procession will march through the Museum’s town to the manor from Żyrzyn. Just like in the past, the most important part of the ceremony will be the moment of giving harvest wreaths to the host. The ceremony, which will be presented in the Museum, was cultivated in the 1930s in the properties of Krychowski family in Sławin (the former proprietors of the part of land, on which the Museum is situated) and Kiełczewski family in Guzówka.

The manorial harvest festival is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the old traditions cultivated a century ago connected to the completion of harvest.
