NATIONAL READING
5 September 2020

On Saturday, 5th September, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Lublin Open Air Village Museum invites you to the ninth edition of the National Reading. This year, the National Reading at the Museum for the first time will take place both in the traditional – stationary way but also online on Facebook page.

During this year’s edition of the National Reading Juliusz Słowacki’s writing entitled ‘Balladyna’ will be read.

Let us look at the hours of the National Reading as an act of solidarity towards Polish language and literature. Despite many years and the passing of generations, the value of the texts is intrinsic, because after all it is in an open-air museum and unlike in school or park, these texts involuntarily compete with another message, also reflecting the years gone by. The word is intertwined with the object, pictures drawn with a pen voluntarily fit into the spaces of the exhibition. In the open-air museum the knowledge of the historian of material culture and at the same time the museologist leads to a variant materialization of the writer’s imagination.

We encourage you to take a copy of ‘Balladyna’ with you to our Museum that day.

While reading together we will visit the following corners of the Lublin open-air museum:
