Lublin Voivodeship for bees
– An appeal to farmers and orchard owners

The Lublin Open Air Village Museum being a signatory of the letter of intent on conducting joint activities for the popularization of knowledge about the role and importance of bees for the environment and man, conveys below an appeal to farmers and orchard owners regarding the responsible use of plant protection products issued as part of the campaign Lublin Voivodeship for bees led by the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Voivodeship.

The contents of the appeal:

 

Dear Farmers and Orchardists

We are now in a situation which demands great responsibility and prudence from all of us. Our everyday life has changed dramatically.

 

Nonetheless, to ensure that we all have access to healthy food, life in the Polish countryside must follow a set rhythm. It is a strategic matter for the safety of Poland and its citizens.

We address these words to you at this very moment, before the start of the spring work, first and foremost to thank you for your hard work and dedication to all the people of our region and country.

At the same time, we would like to appeal to you to take special precautions during fieldwork, especially when using plant protection products. Under the current epidemiological situation, any weakening of the body may put you at risk.

We also appeal for understanding and support for the Lublin beekeepers. For centuries, you have worked together for the sake of nature and agriculture. In this crucial time, cooperation and mutual understanding are especially needed. 

 

Ladies and Gentlemen!

 

Polish citizens expect farmers, fruit growers and beekeepers to produce healthy food of the highest quality, which will ensure our food safety.

We are overjoyed with the opinion that we can be a role model for other voivodeships in terms of cooperation and building good relations between farmers and beekeepers.

Responsibility and solidarity are especially needed today.

Let us remember that mutual understanding and respect will allow both agriculture and beekeeping to flourish for the benefit of all of us in the Lublin Voivodeship.
