FLAX SUNDAY

The Lublin Open Air Village Museum invites you on August 30th, 2020 to an event called Flax Sunday. On that day, we will tell our Guests the story of flax. Flax relics and museologists’ knowledge about flax will be the basis of meetings with the public, which will take place in the sector Town sector.

Those, who visit the open air museum on that day will not only get to know what scutching [międlenie] or grinding [cierlenie] is, they will also have a chance to watch presentations of various activities connected to growing and processing of flax. Another important point of the programme will be an exhibition devoted to flax tradition in the arcade of the house from Wojsławice.

measuring linen canvas with cubit [łokcie] and archine [arszyny] and converting into meters
