HARVEST FESTIVAL

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, the Manor Harvest Festival will take place at the Lublin Village Museum, which will begin with a thanksgiving Holy Mass in the church from Matczyn at 3 p.m. After the mass, a colorful harvest procession will walk the museum’s paths towards the 18th-century manor house from Żyrzyn.

The Manor Harvest Festival is an attempt to recreate the rite of handing harvest wreaths to the landlord – the owner of the estate. The scene that will be presented at the Museum refers to the traditions cultivated in the 1930s in the estates of the Krychowscy family in Sławin – the former owners of the land where the Lublin open-air museum is located and the Kiełczewski estate in Guzówka near Wysokie. Another attraction of the day will be the harvest dance, which will take place in the front of the farm in Teodorówka and will last until 11 p.m. Music will be performed by two folk bands: Kapela Swojacy and Kapela z Morcinkowa Górka.
