The Lublin Open Air Museum’s Christmas Exhibition
open from December 11, 2022
The temporary exhibition entitled “Everything has changed, as it has never been (…)”, the theme of which are the traditional Christmas customs, will be open for the visitors from December 11, 2022 in the gallery on the first floor of the town hall in Głusko (the Miasteczko sector).
The exhibition consists of three parts: CHRISTMAS DECORATION OF THE CHAMBER, CHRISTMAS GIFTS and TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CRIBS. One of its element is a Christmas tree with traditional decorations made of straw, paper, eggs. Also, a unique collection of the Christmas postcards that the inhabitants of the Lublin region sent to each other in the prewar time has been also displayed. An important part of the exhibition are the cribs with a rich collection of figurines, which are the part of one of the oldest forms of wishing caroling. Thinking about the youngest recipients, the toys-gifts that children could find under the Christmas tree will be also provided.
We hope that our exhibition will revive memories, enrich the experience of Christmas time and awaken the desire to be inspired by contemporary Polish Christmas traditions.
